Toronto woman charged with selling counterfeit TTC tokens

A 27-year-old woman has been arrested and charged after police seized a cache of counterfeit TTC tokens in her home.

According to Toronto police, the woman agreed to meet with a person on May 3 to sell counterfeit tokens.

She was met by an undercover officer and arrested at the scene with 109 counterfeit tokens.

Later that day, police executed a search warrant of her home, where they found more fake tokens.

Jia Zeng, of Toronto, has been charged with possession of counterfeit slugs, selling counterfeit slugs, dealing with counterfeit tokens, attempted fraud under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

She will appear in court on June 17.
