Teenage boy allegedly steals glass bong during armed robbery

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after an armed robbery at a Whitby convenience store on Tuesday.
A male walked into the Brooklin Smokey Way store, located near Campbell Street and Price Street, wearing a mask and gloves at about 3:45 p.m. on April 27. He approached the counter of the store and pointed a knife at the cashier.
The cashier immediately fled the store.
The male suspect then took a glass bong and ran out the rear of the store and was seen entering a wooded area behind the store.
Police searched the area and found pieces of clothing and a glass bong.
A 15-year-old boy from Brooklin has been charged with robbery with an offensive weapon, wearing disguise with intent to commit an offence, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, carrying a concealed weapon and obstructing a police officer.
His name cannot be released under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
No one was injured during the incident.
