Pickering cheering extra loud for one of its most famous alumni

As the Toronto Raptors enter Game 6 against the Indiana Pacers, emotions run high in ‘The 6’.

CityNews Reporter Stella Acquisto caught up with Pickering native and Toronto Raptor Cory Joseph’s father. He says he was on pins and needles last game, after the teams miraculous comeback, in the fourth quarter.

“It was one of the best comebacks I have ever seen in NBA history”.

David Joseph explains the family has been involved with basketball their whole lives. Cory’s mother, father, brother and two sisters have all played the sport.

During his time in Toronto, Cory played for the Scarborough Blues, his Pickering highschool team, before moving to the U.S to play.

In 2011, he was drafted by the NBA and in 2014 won a championship with the San Antonio Spurs. This year, he’s back on home soil hoping to do the same.
