New charge laid against man accused of head-butting woman at Eaton Centre

By News Staff

The man accused of head-butting a 68-year-old woman is facing another charge of assault stemming from a different alleged attack.

Jonathan Gallant was arrested on Wednesday and charged with aggravated assault for a seemingly random attack on the woman at the Eaton Centre.

The woman was walking in the downtown mall when she stopped to look inside a bag. That’s when police say a man “deliberately” head-butted her.

The woman fell to the ground, breaking her wrist, and the suspect walked away towards Dundas subway station.

Police believed that on Feb. 24, Gallant chest-bumped another woman without provocation.

He has been charged with assault in connection with this incident.

Police believe there may be more victims.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Paul Ward at 416-808-5200.
