UFC 196 takes place Saturday night in Las Vegas, featuring two fights that have been stealing the sports headlines.
Trash-talking Irishman Conor McGregor takes on Nate Diaz in the main event, while the co-main event features Holly Holm, the woman who knocked Ronda Rousey out defending her women’s bantamweight title against Miesha Tate.
Somebody who will definitely be tuning in is Blue Jays MVP Josh Donaldson, who is a huge fan of mixed martial arts.
“I like the combat side of it,” Donaldson told Sportsnet’s Mike Wilner.
“The guys that are really good, you have to appreciate greatness. And I think that’s why I like Conor so much. I think he’s one of the greats.”
680 NEWS’ Geoff Rohoman, who also doubles as the MMA analyst for Sportsnet 590 The Fan, tasked Wilner with tracking Donaldson down and getting his thoughts ahead of the event.
