Police identify man pulled from Lake Simcoe after ATV incident

York police have identified the man whose body was pulled from Lake Simcoe after what appears to be an ATV incident.
George Snache, 66, was last seen riding his ATV across the lake around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
The York police marine unit, Georgina Fire, and Georgina Island Police were all involved in the search.
Snache’s body was pulled from the water near Virginia Beach before midnight on Thursday. His death is not considered suspicious.
Police have issued numerous warnings that while parts of the lake are frozen, it is not completely solid.
Conditions have been unsafe since January, police say.
Correction: It was initially reported that Snache was last seen on Thursday. He was last seen on Wednesday and reported missing on Thursday.
