School bus driver accused of sexually abusing children facing additional charges

Toronto police have laid six additional sexual assault charges against a school bus driver in Scarborough.

Frank Gavas, 61, was originally charged with six offences after three pre-teen children were allegedly sexually assaulted by a school bus driver between September 2015 and January 15, 2016.

Since his arrest police say additional victims, two pre-teen girls and a teenage boy, came forward with allegations that they were sexually abused by the school bus driver. As a result, Gavas has been charged with three additional counts of sexual assault and three additional counts of sexual interference.

Gavas is scheduled to appear at Old City Hall court on Thursday, Feb. 25.

Police believe there may still be other victims who have yet to come forward. Police ask anyone with information to contact them.

Gavas was employed by Stock Transportation from 2006 and has driven from numerous schools in the Scarborough area, including George Vanier Secondary School, Wesford Public School, George Peck Public School and Sloane Public School.
