Accused in Shoppers Drug Mart fatal stabbing back in court

By News Staff

The woman accused of attempted murder after stabbing a total stranger at a downtown Shoppers Drug Mart will appear in court on Wednesday.

Rohinie Bisesar, 40, is also charged with carrying a concealed weapon in the death of Rosemarie Junor, 28.

Emergency crews were called to the Shoppers, in the PATH system at 66 Wellington St. W., just before 3 p.m. on Dec. 11 after a woman was stabbed.

Junior, also known as Kim, died in hospital five days after she was stabbed. She was a newlywed medical technician who her family described as a “vibrant, happy and glowing person.”

Bisesar made her first court appearance last month. Her lawyer, Calvin Barry, says he’ll seek bail for his client. Bisesar has been in custody since her arrest. If found guilty, she faces a minimum sentence of life in prison with no parole for 10 to 25 years.
