Injured dog dies after rescue on subway tracks near Davisville Station

By News staff

A dog that was trapped on subway tracks near Davisville Station on Tuesday afternoon has died.

Subway trains were halted on Line 1 between Eglinton and Bloor stations after the dog, a large German Shepard named Katie, was stuck beneath the third rail just south of Davisville.

Ross says the dog’s owner told them the animal had been missing since the morning, but it’s not clear on how it ended up stuck on the tracks.

Police said Toronto Animal Service personnel worked to free the dog.

Sadly, the dog’s injuries were too severe and it had to be euthanized.
