Police say a 45-year-old Hamilton woman is facing numerous charges related to thefts from retirement home residents.

Halton police say a woman went to two retirement homes at scheduled mealtimes earlier this month.

Investigators say she went into residents’ rooms and cash and banking cards were taken.

Police say a suspect was identified after they received tips from the public.

Karen Franklin was arrested at her home on Monday and is charged with five counts of break, enter and theft and two counts of possession of credit cards obtained by crime.

Franklin is to appear in court in Milton on Dec. 30.
