Shooting to begin in Saskatchewan in February for “WolfCop” sequel

By The Canadian Press

REGINA – Lock up the liquor, everyone’s favourite inebriated, hirsute lawman is coming back to Saskatchewan.

Producers say shooting will begin in February on “WolfCop 2,” the sequel to director Lowell Dean’s horror-comedy about an alcoholic small-town cop who is also cursed with being a werewolf.

Actor Leo Fafard will return to play officer Lou Garou (a play on the French phrase for “werewolf”) while Amy Matysio is back as his partner Tina.

Creative Saskatchewan and Cinecoup made the announcement on Thursday.

Producer Bernie Hernando promises the sequel will be bigger, badder, dirtier and hairier.

J.P. Ellson, CEO of Creative Saskatchewan, says “WolfCop” is an example of a Saskatchewan film industry success story.

A release date for “WolfCop 2” has not been set, but producers hope to screen the finished product as early as the summer of 2016.
