Math tutor, fiancée charged with gang sexual assault of girl

A 32-year-old math tutor and his 23-year-old fiancée have been charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.

According to Toronto police, Kevin Chan was a teacher at the child’s school for a number of years when he befriended the girl.

Chan’s fiancée, Kayla Drumonde, was a volunteer at the school.

The girl went to the couple’s home in the Lawrence Avenue East and The Donway East area on a number of occasions.

The girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by the couple in the summer of 2014.

Chan and Drumonde are each charged with gang sexual assault and sexual interference.

Police believe there may be other victims.

Chan has been affiliated with a number of Toronto-area schools as a volunteer or as a private tutor, including Dr. Norman Bethune Collegiate, Avondale Public School, Willowdale Middle School, Flemington Public School, Light in the Attic Learning, Spirit of Math and Mathnasium of Don Mills.
