Where’s your blue and white? It’s Blue Jays ‘Appreciation Day’

Tuesday is set to be a big day for fans of Toronto’s soccer and baseball clubs.

Footy fans in the city are invited to celebrate the Toronto FC ahead of their first-ever MLS playoff game.

BMO and MLSE are hosting a player and fan rally at First Canadian Place parkette on King and Bay at 3 p.m.

Among those expected are the team’s general manager Tim Bezbatchenko as well as some alumni players including Dwayne De Rosario and Steven Caldwell.

Organizers say there will be giveaways, including Toronto FC T-shirts and BMO soccer balls.

The Reds take on the Impact on Thursday in Montreal.

Meanwhile, Toronto mayor John Tory announced on Monday that Oct. 27 will be known as “Blue Jays Appreciation Day” in the city and is urging fans to don the team’s blue and white colours to celebrate their success.

This season saw the Blue Jays make the MLB playoffs for the first time since 1993 and win a dramatic series against the Texas Rangers. However, the team was eliminated from the AL Championship Series on Friday in Kansas City.
