Toronto police are seeking the public’s assistance after they say a 28-year-old woman was violently sexually assaulted near Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue East on early Saturday morning.
Police said the victim exited a TTC bus at 3 a.m. and was followed off the bus by an unknown man.
It is alleged by police that the suspect approached her from behind, sexually assaulted her and brutally attacked her.
Police said a violent struggle occurred and the victim was punched repeatedly in the head before the suspect fled from the scene in a northbound direction.
Investigators said the man has a medium complexion and short black hair, is five-foot-nine to five-foot-11 tall, has a skinny build, between the ages of 23-35 and was last seen wearing blue jeans.
Police are asking anyone that might have information about the incident to contact them.
