Dufferin Street construction completed three weeks early

Here’s something you don’t hear every day: A Toronto road construction plan has been completed three weeks early.

According to a statement from the city, the 1.3-kilometre construction project on Dufferin Street between Lawrence Avenue and Highway 401 has been completed.

The construction, which began in May, was expected to take until Oct. 30 to be complete.

During the Pan Am Games, construction took place at night so lanes could be open during the day. Traffic was reduced to only one lane each way during the repairs.

Dufferin Street has been ranked among Ontario’s worst roads in Southern Ontario in CAA’s annual survey.
