Trending: LeBron-backed pizza chain preparing to open in Toronto

Have you ever wanted to get a piece of LeBron James?

Well, now you can – a piece of his pizza, at least.

James is the key investor behind Blaze Pizza, a fast-casual pizza franchise that will soon be opening a store at Yonge and Dundas Square.

Signs have already begun appearing on the storefront at 10 Dundas East where Johnny Rocket’s used to be.

The concept behind the franchise is fresh-fired pizzas, ready to eat in just three minutes. There are already a couple shops that offer something similar, like 180 Secondi at St. Clair and Yonge, and 90 Second Pizzeria on Queen Street West. The menu at Blaze includes salads, blood orange lemonade and s’mores pies.

Blaze Pizza co-founder Rick Wetzel, who also founded Wetzel’s Pretzels, is hoping to turn the chain into the Chipotle of pizza, with 1,800 locations around the world. According to Bloomberg, Blaze had $33 million in sales in 2014 and expects to open 62 restaurants this year.

As long as everyone understands that while we may embrace LeBron’s pizza, but we will not cheer for him at the ACC.
