TTC driver charged with sexually assaulting girl, 15

A longtime TTC driver known as “Bus Driver Al” is facing nine charges for allegedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl he befriended on social media.

Police arrested Allan Hrynkiw, 39, on Thursday and charged him with three counts each of sexual assault, sexual interference and luring a child.

Police tell CityNews the Oshawa man began communicating with the teen on Twitter in November 2014.

They met in person on July 2015 on a TTC streetcar and police say Hrynkiw later assaulted her on three separate occasions over the past four weeks.

“These (alleged assaults) occurred on a TTC streetcar,” Const. Caroline De Kloet said.

The TTC’s Brad Ross released a statement on Twitter, saying Hrynkiw has been pulled from work duties pending the results of the investigation.

“Given this very serious issue is now before the courts, the TTC will offer no further comment,” Ross said.

The TTC later confirmed that Hrynkiw has been employed with the transit commission for more than seven years. He’s been suspended with pay.

On his Twitter account, Hrynkiw says he commonly works the 506/306 Carlton routes. “Just call me Mr. Night Bus,” he says in his profile.
