Suspended Senator Brazeau unleashes scathing attack on Stephen Harper

Make no mistake – suspended Senator Patrick Brazeau is no fan of Conservative Leader Stephen Harper.

And Brazeau took to the Internet on Wednesday to rail against the prime minister, urging voters to turf Harper in the Oct. 19 federal election.

“I was once a loyal soldier to the Prime Minister and as a former Conservative caucus member, Stephen Harper has got to go for the good of the Conservative party,” Brazeau wrote in a 1,600-word diatribe on the website Loonie Politics. “His time is up and the CPC needs to find a replacement yesterday.  I believe Harper’s love for power and control is dangerous and he has ruined the lives of people who were close and loyal to him.”

Brazeau, 40, was appointed to the Senate by Harper in 2008. He was suspended by the Senate in February 2013 when he was charged with assault and sexual assault, and in November 2013, he was suspended over questionable expense reports.

In the post, Brazeau attacks Harper as “heavy handed” and “a control freak.”

“When you contradict, shame or make the PM look bad regardless of its significance, watch out because some of his soldiers are coming after you,” Brazeau writes. “Is that ‘PROVEN LEADERSHIP?’  No, its ‘PROVEN DICTATORSHIP’ and it scares me and it should scare you.”

Since his Senate suspension, Brazeau has worked as a freelance reporter for the satirical magazine Frank and as a day manager for an Ottawa strip club.
