Suspect in Etobicoke strip club shooting surrenders

A man wanted in connection with a shooting outside a popular Etobicoke strip club last year has surrendered to police.

Police were called to The House of Lancaster, in the Royal York Road and The Queensway area, just before 3 a.m. on Dec. 30.

The victim, a 24-year-old man, was outside waiting for a car to pick him up in the parking lot when he was shot several times, with one bullet striking him in the head. He was rushed to hospital in critical condition and has since gone through multiple surgeries. Police said he continues to suffer from the effects of this incident.

The suspect fled from the scene.

Mohamud Yousef Omar, 24, turned himself in just hours after police issued a Canada-wide warrant for his arrest.

He is wanted on several charges including attempted murder and aggravated assault.
