Pan Am roundup: Cochrane grabs 2nd record on Day 8

It wasn’t enough for Canadian swimmer Ryan Cochrane to take away one Pan Am Games record, he had to do it twice.

Cochrane set the record in the men’s 400-metre freestyle on Friday and also in the men’s 1,500-metre freestyle on Saturday.

Korey Jarvis won Silver in men’s 125 kg wrestling, Arjun Gill won silver as well in the men’s 97kg and Tamerlan Tagziev won bronze in the men’s 68 kg.

Rhythmic gymnast Patricia Bezzoubenko captures bronze in the women’s individual all-around.

Huge Barrette grabbed the Canadian flag to hold above his head after he finished first in the men’s sprint in cycling claiming gold for Canada. Men’s softball also grabbed a gold medal on Saturday night.

Canada’s streak on the gold medal tally dropped today as the United States captured number one spot with 50 gold medals. Team Canada currently has 48 gold medals total and sits in second place on the medal-rank with 122 medals.

But there’s still plenty of time to grab more gold medals for Team Canada with eight more days remaining in the Pan Am Games.

Below is a full look at Team Canada’s gold medalists from Saturday:
