The countdown to the Pan Am Games is on and if you don’t have a ticket to the opening ceremony there’s still a way you can enjoy the festivities.

A live broadcast of the event will be shown on multiple jumbo video screens at Nathan Phillips Square for free on Friday.

The evening will kick off at 5 p.m. with live entertainment in the Square. The live feed of the Opening Ceremony will begin at 8 p.m.

Canadian Idol winner Eva Avila and comedian Rick Miller will host the family-friendly event.

The opening ceremony, which will include a parade and the lighting of the Pan Am cauldron, is being held at Rogers Centre and produced by world famous Cirque du Soleil.

The next day Nathan Phillips Square will host PANAMANIA Live, daily concerts and fireworks celebrating the Pan Am Games. The event will kick off July 11 with headliners Serena Ryder and Wyclef Jean. Click here for a complete list of performers.
