Woman airlifted to hospital after car slams into tree in Oakville

A man and a woman are in hospital after a serious, single vehicle collision in Oakville.
Emergency crews were called to the scene near Upper Middle Road and Golden Briar Trail around 6 a.m.
For an unknown reason the vehicle left the road and struck a tree.
Halton police said the woman was airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.
The man was taken to a local hospital.
Upper Middle Road expected to remain closed for several hours from Trafalgar Road to Eighth Line for the investigation.
