Tim Hortons employee accused of pilfering $200K from Burlington franchise

A 42-year-old Tim Hortons employee is accused of pilfering $200,000 from the company.
Halton regional police said it happened at a franchise in Burlington.
In June, the store owners discovered a large amount of deposits between January of 2014 and May of this year were outstanding. Police said the employee was in charge of making the bank deposits.
Mariel Abejero from Hamilton faces a charge of theft over $5,000.
Abejero was arrested on Tuesday, and is scheduled to appear in court on July 29.
