Police locate suspect vehicle involved in Vaughan cafe murders

York regional police have found the vehicle involved in a quadruple shooting in Vaughan last week that left two people dead.

Police believe a lone shooter — who they said “entered the cafe with a purpose” — opened fire inside Moka Espresso Bar Café near Highway 7 and Islington Avenue the morning of June 24.

Maria Voci, 47 and Christopher Desimone, 24, both of Vaughan, died at the scene. Two other people were taken to hospital and are expected to survive.

Earlier, police had released the licence plate of the vehicle they believed was used by the suspect. Police said the 2011 black Nissan Versa with the plate BVLW 273 was a stolen vehicle.

Toronto police found the vehicle abandoned in an Etobicoke parking lot at 67 Westmore Dr., near Highway 7 and Albion Road, on Wednesday evening.

On Tuesday, investigators released new video and images of a suspect sought in connection with the shooting.

Police said the suspect is considered armed and dangerous, and anyone who spots him should not approach but call 911.
