Give peas a chance? Obama says no way

Some like hot peppers in it, other like it simple with just avocados, tomatoes, onions and garlic.

So when the New York Times did the unthinkable, the internet went wild.

They added peas to their guacamole recipe.

“The peas add intense sweetness and a chunky texture to the dip, making it more substantial on the chip,” said the article posted online on Thursday.

Journalist Melissa Clark always thought less was more with guacamole but then she tried green pea guacamole at ABC Cocina and her mind and stomach were forever changed.

Some people were outraged by trying to change a good thing and thought to ask what President Barack Obama thought of the madness.

He wasn’t having any of it.

For Obama, nothing is better than a good old bowl of guacamole and chips.

“My big thing — chips and guacamole,” Obama said. “Basically, if there is a bowl of good chips and guacamole…” reported the Washington Post back in July 2014. “I lose my mind,” Obama said. “I lose my mind.”
