Timmins police lift perimeter after stand-off at Canadian Tire store

Police have lifted the perimeter at a Canadian Tire store on Wednesday after a stand off with a male suspect.

They believe the male suspect left the building before a perimeter was established.

As of a press conference on Wednesday night, police do not know where the male is.

Police in Timmins said an armed person was believed to be inside a Canadian Tire store in the city earlier on Wednesday.

Police were called to the scene at 4:20 a.m. on Wednesday after a break-and enter at the store located on Riverside Drive.

Emergency task force officers and Ontario provincial police, including the canine unit, are at the scene.

The suspect targeted and took firearms, said police.

The Timmins Police Service said Canadian Tire, Home Depot, Penningtons, Michaels, and Marks were closed.

Timmins Police issued a warning that the pair, Clyde Marshal, 36, of New Brunswick, and Sabrina Couart, 27, of Gatineau Quebec, may have been spotted in TImmins on Monday.

The focus of the investigation, according to Timmins Police’s Kate Cantin, is the break and enter, and the firearm theft.

Police are asking the public to call them if they have any information.
