Erin Davis’ daughter, Lauren, remembered at memorial

A memorial for Lauren Davis, daughter of popular Toronto radio host Erin Davis, took place on Friday. A video of the service will be available on CHFI.com.

“Why couldn’t she wait?,” Erin asked during her tribute at the service, talking about how Lauren always did things quickly — falling in love, getting married, travelling, working, having a child, and, sadly, dying at the young age of 24.

Erin, a morning show host of our affiliate station CHFI, updated her blog on Thursday with the news.

As we prepare for (the)Toronto memorial for Lauren (details coming at CHFI.com or Facebook on live internet streaming at 1pm EDT) we’ve stayed in a state of busy sadness. Sifting through pictures, combing through memories and gathering small remembrances of such a large, short life, we’ve been reminded time and again of the great gift we were given in having Lauren in our lives.

Lauren was a new mom and a broadcaster with CFRA, a radio station in Ottawa.

She died suddenly in her sleep on May 11. The cause of what Erin calls a catastrophic cardiac event hasn’t been determined.

Rogers is the parent company of CHFI, as well as this station and website.
