Toronto police release sketch of suspect wanted in Don Mills sexual assault

Toronto police have released a composite sketch of a suspect wanted in connection with a daylight sexually assault in the city’s north end.

The incident happened Friday afternoon around 3 p.m. near Don Mills Road and Lawrence Avenue East.

Police said the victim, a 24-year-old woman, had been hired to clean a home for sale in the Deepwood Crescent and Greenland Road area.

Investigators said an “unknown man” posed as a buyer to get inside the home and proceeded to sexually assault the woman.

“The suspect knocked on the door and was allowed entry in, in order to view the home,” Det. Sgt. Joanne Rudnick with the Toronto police Sex Crimes Division explained, “The suspect attacked the victim and sexually assaulted her.”

During the assault, police said the man was startled by the sound of a door closing and fled the scene. The victim then also fled the scene and called police.

The suspect is described as white, in his mid-20s, 5-foot-8, 130 lbs. and a thin build, with straight, medium-length red hair that sticks out at ear level. He was wearing a faded orange t-shirt torn around the neck area, cut-off blue jean shorts below the knees with frayed edges and black running shoes with white writing.

Police are asking the suspect to turn himself in.

“If the suspect himself is watching, I ask you to get a lawyer and turn yourself in. You know what you did,” said Rudnick.

Toronto police are asking members of the public, and specifically real estate agents who may have been in the area, to contact investigators with any information.
