WATCH: Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano partial crater collapse causes lava explosion

It was a spectacular show from mother nature in Hawaii.
A partial collapse of a crater wall on Mount Kilauea caused an explosion on Sunday, sending molten lava and rocks into the air, the U.S. Geological Survey’s (USGS) Hawaiian Volcano Observatory said.
The USGS captured the explosion, which occurred on Kilauea’s Halemaumau Crater, on webcam.

Molten lava continued to rise inside the volcano and rose high enough that is was visible, a geologist with the USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory said last Thursday.
The last time lava was seen in the crater was in 1982 when a fissure erupted.
