Boy, 14, charged in Scarborough gas station robbery

A 14-year-old boy is one of two people charged in connection to the armed robbery of a Scarborough gas station last month.

Police say they received a call to 4418 Kingston Road near Lawrence Avenue East at around 12:40 a.m. on April 27.

Three males entered a gas station wearing disguises. In a release, police said one of suspects was armed with a handgun.

“The person working at the station was approached at gunpoint and assaulted,” police said. “The three males obtained a large amount of cigarettes and cash and fled.”

On Monday police arrested a 14-year-old Scarborough boy and charged him with robbery while armed with firearm and disguise with intent.

He can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Deshawn Mckenzie, 19, of Scarborough, has also been charged with robbery while armed with firearm, disguise with intent, and two counts of fail to comply with probation.

Police have issued a warrant for the third suspect, Samson Gil, 19, of Toronto.
