A 23-year-old man was arrested in Winnipeg last week, almost four months after a shooting in Toronto’s west end.
Around noon on Jan. 5, two men started talking to a 21-year-old man in the courtyard of a Toronto Community Housing complex on Humber Boulevard, near Weston Road and Black Creek Drive.
It’s alleged one of the men shot the 21-year-old several times in the torso and also the face. The victim had non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the suspects ran away and were last seen in a grey or black Ford Edge four-door SUV.
Officers in Winnipeg tracked down one of the suspects, Guled Jimaleh, 23, who was arrested and charged with nine offences, including attempted murder, unauthorized possession of a firearm and careless use of a firearm.
The Toronto man appeared in a Finch Avenue West court on Monday.
The other suspect is still at large. He has been described as black, with light skin, six-foot-one to six-foot-five, clean-shaven and has short hair and brown eyes.
