5 treated in hospital after North York highrise fire

Five people were taken to hospital after a highrise apartment fire in North York on Saturday.

Shortly after 2 p.m., crews were called to a Toronto Community Housing building on Tobermory Drive, near Jane Street and Finch Avenue West.

The fire started in a fourth-floor unit and filled parts of the building with smoke.

Firefighters quickly put out the flames, containing the fire to one unit, and started ventilating the affected areas.

Five people, including a five-month-old, were taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
