VIVA bus and truck collide in Thornhill killing 1 person

One person has died after a VIVA bus and a truck collided in Thornhill on Thursday morning.
It happened around 7:30 a.m. at Yonge Street and Royal Orchard Boulevard.
The truck was travelling at a high rate of speed, when it crossed the median and slammed head-on into the bus. The driver was killed.
Seven people on the bus, including the driver, received minor injuries.
Yonge will be closed for several hours while police investigate.
