The funeral for Canadian Olympian runner Daundre Barnaby will be held on Saturday in Mississauga.
Barnaby, 24, died on March 27 when he was swimming with teammates during a national training camp in St. Kitts.
Athletics Canada head coach Peter Erickson said it was a freak accident where the wind was really swirling and created an undertow.
Barnaby competed for Canada in the 400-metre event at the London 2012 Olympics and was looking to compete at home, in front of family and friends, at the Pan Am Games this summer.
He also represented Canada most recently at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Scotland.
The funeral will take place at Praise Cathedral Worship Centre, as reported by CBC.
His family has set up an online fundraiser in hopes to raise $35,000 to help with expenses, transfer his body back to Canada and set up a scholarship fund to allow his name to live on.
