The 16 teams battling in the NHL playoffs aren’t the only ones currently in pursuit of a Stanley Cup championship ring.
Toronto police are trying to track down a 1947-1948 Maple Leafs Stanley Cup championship ring after it was allegedly stolen from a north Toronto home in March.
The ring belonged to former Leaf Philip Samis and was passed down as a family heirloom.
Police say a number of unknown suspects broke into a home in the Yonge Street and Deloraine Avenue area on March 5 and made off with jewelry and other property.
Police are asking anyone with information to call them.
