Man arrested for alleged sex assault at Brimley & Ellesmere

Toronto police are investigating a man after he allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in Scarborough on February 27.

Police allege that the man approached a woman from behind, knocked her to the ground and sexually assaulted her in the Brimley Road and Ellesmere Road area.

Police received a call around 10:45 p.m. for an alleged assault.

The woman managed to escape and reported the alleged incident to police.

Police say the man then fled the scene.

Jason Smith, 35, of Toronto was arrested and charged with sexual assault.
