Plans unveiled for redevelopment at Honest Ed’s site

Hundreds of people packed into a downtown hotel Tuesday night to see what a Vancouver-based developer has planned for an iconic Toronto neighbourhood.

The plan for the Honest Ed’s site at Bathurst and Bloor streets calls for more than 1,000 rental units, artist studios, a large covered market and room for pop-up shops and food trucks.

The developer, Westbank, says the designs are conceptual and are still a work in progress before making an application to the city for changes to the site.

Honest Ed’s will officially close in December of 2016.
