Surveillance video shows 2 men firing shots at group in North York

Toronto police have released surveillance video that shows two men shooting at a group of men standing outside a townhouse complex in North York last December.

Police say two men were walking toward the complex at 396 Driftwood Ave., near Jane Street and Finch Avenue West, via a pathway that runs from Driftwood Avenue Public School around 9:27 p.m. on Dec. 30, 2014, when they fired several shots at the other men.

The two men then fled south on the same path towards the school.

The first suspect has a medium-to-thin build and was wearing dark-coloured pants, a dark-coloured jacket with the hood up, and dark-coloured shoes with reflective material on the heel.

The second suspect is described as having a heavier build, wearing a dark-coloured jacket, possibly two-toned with the sleeves and shoulder being a lighter shade. His jacket appears to have reflective markings on the rear collar, and he was wearing light-coloured pants or jeans with dark shoes.

Police said the two suspects are considered armed and dangerous, and warn not to approach them but call 911.

At the time, police said shots were fired while plainclothes officers were conducting an investigation in the area around 10 p.m.

There were no reported injuries.

A York Regional police helicopter was also utilized in the search for suspects.
