2 men charged in Barrie allegedly tried to recruit women into sex trade

Police say two men are facing charges after allegedly approaching women in malls in Barrie, Ont., in an effort to recruit them into the sex trade.

Barrie police say officers responding to complaints about a group of four men located two of them on Wednesday and found they had outstanding warrants in northern Ontario.

Investigators say the men were before the courts on a total of 26 outstanding charges with seven different releases, and were allegedly breaching numerous conditions of those releases.

Police also determined that both men were on probation orders relating to 15 previous convictions and were breaching conditions on all of the orders.

The two northern Ontario men _ aged 19 and 23 _ are charged with breaching numerous conditions and are being held in custody.

Investigators are encouraging anyone who may have been approached by the men to contact police.
