Assault charges against Markham man dismissed

Update, Dec. 19, 2018: Chandramohan pleaded guilty to one assault on June 5, 2017. All other charges were dismissed at the request of the crown.
Toronto police arrested a 54-year-old man in connection with assaults in December.
The arrest stems from complaints from two men, both in the Jane Street and Lawrence Street area, one on Dec. 19, and one on Christmas Day.
Mariampillai Sri Chandramohan, 54, of Markham, also known as “Mohan,” faced several charges.
According to police, Chandramohan owns a convenience store on Finch Avenue, near Highway 400, and used to own a Thai restaurant at Danforth and Coxwell avenues area.
Chandramohan, who is also known as “Mohan,” appeared in court on Wednesday.
