Kathy Griffin named new ‘Fashion Police’ host; Canadian Brad Goreski joins panel

NEW YORK, N.Y. – E! network has named Kathy Griffin as the new host of “Fashion Police,” replacing the late Joan Rivers when the show returns in January for coverage of the Golden Globes — and a Canadian will also be joining the panel.

The couture-criticizing comedy series, which had previously aired weekly, will now present 17 episodes throughout 2015, focusing on high-profile red carpet and fashion events, E! announced Monday. It returns Jan. 12 for coverage of the Golden Globe Awards.

E! executive vice-president Jeff Olde called Rivers “a dear friend and mentor to Kathy, who will no doubt continue her legacy and do the series justice by bringing her own unique comic style and tell-it-like-it-is personality to the host chair.”

“You celebrities better strap yourself in,” Griffin said, “as I am taking no prisoners.”

Griffin is an award-winning actress, comedian and author known for her biting comic style. She won two Emmy Awards for her Bravo reality series, “Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List.”

“Fashion Police” will welcome back panellists Kelly Osbourne and Giuliana Rancic, who will be joined by newcomer Brad Goreski, an L.A.-based Canadian fashion stylist and lifestyle expert.

“I am SO excited to be joining @kathygriffin, @GiulianaRancic and @KellyOsbourne on @e_FashionPolice! Can’t wait to break it all down!!” tweeted Goreski, a native of Port Perry, Ont.

Goreski is no stranger to the airwaves. After landing an internship and later working at Vogue magazine, Goreski eventually ended up as an assistant to Rachel Zoe. He was also featured on the celebrity stylist’s reality series “The Rachel Zoe Project.”

Since branching out on his own in 2010, Goreski has helped dress a number of stars, including actresses Jessica Alba, Noomi Rapace, Christina Ricci and “Bridesmaids” star and “Saturday Night Live” alum Maya Rudolph.

He also starred on his own Bravo TV reality series “It’s a Brad, Brad World” and wrote “Born to Be Brad: My Life In Style So Far,” which he described as part memoir, part style guide.

“Kathy just feels right,” said Melissa Rivers, who continues as “Fashion Police” executive producer, adding: “I’m excited to see where this panel takes this series my mother so adored in this next incarnation.”

“Fashion Police” has been off the air since Rivers’ death in September at age 81 after complications from surgery.
