Jimmy Kimmel pokes fun at Ford supporter’s ISIS comment

Rob Ford may only have a month left as Toronto’s mayor but it didn’t stop late-night television host Jimmy Kimmel from once again putting him, and his family’s supporters, in the spotlight.

Kimmel began his opening monologue on Tuesday night congratulating John Tory for his victory in the election but then quickly turned his attention to Ford.

After announcing Ford had won he seat on city council, Kimmel focused on his vow to run for mayor again in 2018.

“I don’t know if I can wait that long. I really don’t.” Kimmel joked.

His attention then turned to mayoral candidate Doug Ford and video posted on Instagram of one distraught woman reacting to the news of his loss to Tory.

“I just can’t imagine what’s ahead of us,” the woman says choking back tears. “I’m horrified. It’s like ISIS coming to Toronto. That’s how bad it is. It couldn’t be worse.”

To her reaction Kimmel quipped “this is why you should never talk politics after you have your wisdom teeth removed.”

He then added “my prayers go out tonight to that woman’s husband.”

Ford has been the butt of jokes on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live and other late night shows ever since allegations arose in May 2013 about the mayor’s drug use.
