Crowdfunding campaign raises over $250,000 for family of fallen soldiers

A crowdfunding campaign to help the families of the fallen Canadian soldiers has so far raised $251,000.

The campaign is called the ‘Stand on Guard Fund’ and at first was just looking for $10,000, but organizers say they surpassed that goal in less than a day.

The big banks also got involved in a big way – Royal Bank, TD, Scotiabank, BMO and CIBC will each be donating $20,000.

Rogers Communications today committed $25,000 as did Loblaws and Goodlife Fitness.

Contributions can also be mailed to the True Patriot Love Foundation, with cheques made out to the True Patriot Love Foundation naming the Stand on Guard Fund.
