Toronto had its highest ever turnout for the first day of the advance vote on Tuesday.
The city said 28,046 people cast ballots that day — more than the 16,000 who showed up during the entire six weekdays of advance voting during the last municipal election in 2010.
Including the weekend totals, about 77,000 turned out for the advance vote four years ago.
Advance voting for the 2014 election runs until Friday at city hall and until Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., at one location in each of the 44 wards.
Voters must bring their voter information cards and ID showing their name and Toronto address.
Polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day, Oct. 27.
