Richmond Hill man not criminally responsible for death of sister

A 38-year-old Richmond Hill man has been found not criminally responsible for the death of his sister.

Jeannine Ross, also 38, was found beaten to death in a condo on Yonge Street, north of Elgin Mills Road, on Feb. 2, 2013. She had been living in Thunder Bay at the time.

Police arrested her brother, Jonathon Ross, at the scene and charged him with second-degree murder two days later.

In a Newmarket court on Friday, judge Mark Edwards found the man not criminally responsible for the death.

The case is now before the Ontario Review Board.

According to a report last year, Jonathan Ross was a Grade 5 teacher at Corpus Christi Catholic School, a short walk from the condo.
