Toronto police said a murder on Tuesday night in the west end is “very solvable” and they need only one missing clue from local residents.
At a news conference on Wednesday, Det.-Sgt. Steve Ryan said officers had found a man dead, with stab wounds, inside an apartment on Eglinton Avenue West, near Oakwood. He’s believed to be in his 20s.
After the attack, it’s alleged the suspect chased a woman in her 30s out of the building and stabbed her arms.
“It’s our belief that this attacker frequents that area often, if not on a daily basis,” Ryan said.
“All we’re asking is for a name and we can take it from there.”
Police said the victims and the suspect knew each other and it wasn’t a random attack. Despite that, they don’t yet have a motive.
The suspect is a white man, 26-28 years old and 175 pounds, with very short, blond hair and baby blue eyes. He was wearing a light blue, long-sleeved shirt with an orange collar and blue jeans.
Police are asking anyone who knows a man who even vaguely matches that description to call them or Crime Stoppers.
They are also looking through surveillance video for evidence.
