Oshawa motorcyclist killed after collision with van

A 45-year-old Oshawa man is dead after an accident between a motorcycle and a van in Scugog Township on Friday.

Durham police say the incident happened around 5 p.m. when the driver of the motorcycle was travelling south on Regional Road 57 approaching Regional Road 19.

A van, travelling westbound on Regional Road 19, pulled out onto Regional Road 57 into the path of the motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle, Mitchell Hunt, struck the rear passenger door of the van and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the van was not injured.
