Toronto police search for missing woman, 51, last seen August

Toronto police have increased their search efforts for a woman who has been missing since August.

Catherine Currie, 51, was last seen on Aug. 14 at around 11 p.m. in the Dufferin Street and Bloor Street West area.

According to police, her bicycle and her helmet were found in the area of Rosedale Valley Road, under the Mount Pleasant bridge.

Police have raised the search to a level three, and are officers in 14 Division are conducting a ground search.

Currie is described as white, five-feet four-inches tall, 140 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Police confirm they have found the body of a female in the area where officers have been searching, but won’t confirm whether it is that of Currie.
