Police release video footage that could be linked to Trudeau break-in

Ottawa police have released images of a person of interest that could be linked to the break-in at the home of Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau.

In a release, police said the person is sought in connection with a “recent nighttime prowling incident” in the Rockliffe area, where Trudeau lives with his family.

The Liberal leader’s wife and children were sleeping during last weekend’s incident at their family home.

No one was injured and nothing was stolen.

However, a threatening note was reportedly left on top of several knives.

The black-and-white images were taken from a security camera and show a man appearing to be talking on a cell phone.

Investigators also released the security video footage, but did not indicate where the camera was located.

Anyone with information about the identity of the person of interest is asked to contact Ottawa police at (613) 236-1222 (ext. 4533), Crime Stoppers anonymously at (613) 233-8477(TIPS) or toll-free at 1-800-222-8477.
