A 68-year-old man has died after being struck by a streetcar on St. Clair Avenue.

The man died in hospital Saturday after being struck the evening of Aug. 7.

According to police, the victim and another man, 65, were standing in the centre of the streetcar right-of-way near Lansdowne Avenue.

The victim stepped backwards for unknown reasons and was struck by a westbound streetcar.

The 65-year-old man was also hit, but he did not suffer life-threatening injuries.

A 54-year-old man was driving the streetcar.

There is no word on any charges.
